MWAKENYA: Praying Right. The Code to Answered Prayers.

On 10th April 2026, BOSCO MUNENE, C.E.O at The DOSAGE MEDIA, had the honor of being the Friday Vespers Chief Guest Speaker at Nyeri Central SDA Church, where he shared impactful insights on prayer with fellow Adventist youths.
And kumbe… he didn’t just show up with words — alikuwa amebeba mwakenya proper! A powerful, well-tested and proven set of prayer tips, hacks, and secrets that he personally applies for effective and fulfilling prayer results.
Now here’s the best part…
Today, YOU are lucky enough to gain access to that very mwakenya he shared.
So basi, grab your pen and paper…
This one is worth noting ๐Ÿ‘‡

For a start (Based on Acts 2:3)
Key Verse
They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.”
CORE IDEA
This is a message about personal encounter with God.
The fire didn’t fall on the group as one lump—it rested on each of them individually.
Meaning: ๐Ÿ‘‰ God doesn’t deal with you as a crowd
๐Ÿ‘‰ He meets you personally ๐Ÿ‘‰Message:
You can be in church, in a youth group, in a crowd…
and still need your own fire.
So anytime you are about to pray, present yourself knowing despite the crowd your flame tongue is always personal. You won't be sharing anyone's fire flame.

Now this are the tips  that has been working not just for him but also worked for other biblical characters, try applying them as well and achieve successful prayer or wishes gratifications.

CONFIDENCE, FAITH & TRUST —
(Based on Elijah and the sacrifice – 1 Kings 18:30–39)
Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God…”Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice…”
Not just the sacrifice:
The wood
The stones
The water
Everything.
๐Ÿ‘‰ When God responds, He does it completely.
Notice:
No panic
No long shouting
Just simple, confident prayer
๐Ÿ‘‰ That is trust.
He didn’t try to control the outcome.
He left it in God’s hands.
Elijah didn’t need numbers—he needed faith.
He didn’t need noise—he needed trust.
And when he believed, heaven responded with fire.”
SURRENDERING TO GOD’S PLAN
(Matthew 6:10) Key Verse –
“…Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
Sometimes God’s will:
Doesn’t match your plans
Doesn’t come at your timing
Doesn’t look comfortable
But it always leads to:
Purpose
Growth
Impact
Isaiah 55:8-9
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts…”
๐Ÿ‘‰ God sees what you can’t see
When you pray ‘Your will be done,’ you’re not giving up your life—
you’re placing it in the hands of the One who knows it best.” so Stop asking God to follow your plan…
and start trusting Him enough to follow His.”

GRATITUDE AND DEDICATION
In Hannah’s story (1 Samuel 1), the key idea is not that God demands something in return, but that Hannah responds to God with faith, gratitude, and dedication after seeking His help.
What Hannah actually does while she is deeply distressed because she cannot have a child. She prays:
Lord Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me… I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life.” (1 Samuel 1:11)
When God answers her prayer and she gives birth to Samuel, she fulfills her promise and dedicates him back to God.
This is not a transaction like “God, I give You something so You must give me something.”
It is more like: “God, if You help me, I will honor You with what I receive.”
BARGAIN / DEFEND / NEGOTIATE
The story of Hezekiah where he becomes seriously ill, and the prophet Isaiah tells him to set his house in order because he will die. He prays earnestly to God, reminding God of his faithfulness and devotion.
Then God responds:
“I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life.” (Isaiah 38:5)
So instead of “God needing a reminder,” what really happens is:
Hezekiah brings his case before God in prayer
God responds in mercy and compassion
Time is extended as an act of grace

TRUSTING GOD’S PROCESS
After losing his wealth, children, and security, Job responds:
Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” (Job 1:21)
This is not denial of pain—it’s faith expressed in suffering.
Job is not saying life is always easy or that he understands everything. Instead, he is affirming:
I didn’t bring anything into this world
I cannot control everything I lose
God is still God even when circumstances change
So his focus shifts from:
“Why is this happening?”
to
“I still trust God in what is happening.”
SPECIFICITIES ON PRAYER:
God knows, but still wants you to speak, Solomon: a specific request that pleased God
When God appeared to Solomon and basically gave him an open invitation, Solomon did not ask for everything in general. He was specific:
“Give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong.”
— 1 Kings 3:9
God’s response shows how powerful that request was:
“Since you have asked for wisdom… I will give you a wise and discerning heart.”
— 1 Kings 3:11–12
Jesus also teaches:
Jesus: “What do you want me to do for you?”
Jesus often asked people to state their need clearly, even though He already knew it.
Blind Bartimaeus:
“What do you want me to do for you?”
“Rabbi, I want to see.”
— Mark 10:51
Two blind men:
“Do you believe that I am able to do this?”
“Yes, Lord.”
— Matthew 9:28
James and John (also showing motive clarity):
“What is it you want?”
— Matthew 20:21
Key lesson:
Jesus wasn’t gathering information—He was:
Drawing out faith
Making people articulate their need
Showing intentional desire before receiving a miracle
“Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”
— Matthew 6:8
But He still says:
“Ask, and it will be given to you.”
— Matthew 7:7
So the principle is:
God’s knowledge does not cancel your participation.
GRATITUDE AFTER THE GRATIFICATIONS.
As we come to the end, remember this: prayer does not end when God responds—it continues in how we respond back to Him.
When God answers, don’t rush to the next need so quickly that you forget the One who provided the answer. Gratitude is part of the miracle.
The Bible shows us this clearly:
Ten lepers were healed, but only one returned to give thanks. And Jesus asked:
“Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?”
— Luke 17:17
And the one who returned was made whole and restored:
“Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
— Luke 17:19
That means healing can happen, but gratitude completes the encounter.
We also see a warning and a reminder:
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:18
So even after the breakthrough, the job, the healing, the open door—don’t forget the Giver while celebrating the gift.
Because like Hannah, who returned to dedicate Samuel back to God, and like David, who kept honoring God after victory, and like the leper who came back to say thank you—gratitude keeps the blessing aligned with God’s presence. BE BLESSED.
